About me

Hello World, this is Erick Pérez

I'm 32 years old and I'm from Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. I really enjoy studying and looking for a new opportunities always. My wife and my dog there are my most important person and animal in my life, and I try to spend all my free time with them.

From a very young age I have been curious about computers. When I was in high school, I got to know the world of programming and made my first "Hello World" in QBasic, at that moment I felt incredible. Since then I have been studying and using different programming languages, I studied at the Technological Institute of Culiacán and at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, Software Engineering.

It was until 2014, when I started creating websites. I started by learning PHP and that is how I got my first job at TVP before Channel 3, a proud local television station. Over the years I have worked on multiple projects on the Web. For little more than 4 years my Stack was LAMP and I learned to use Laravel as my main framework.

However, I felt that I needed to learn more to create interfaces on my own, without depending on frameworks. Because the reality is that because of work many times I had to use a library before I could understand it. So I began to make changes in my life.

The first thing was to find a mentor, after searching I met Leonidas Esteban. And it's been a year since I became his mentee, he helped me improve my skills as a Frontend developer. To better understand JavaScript and above all to "Don't give up".

With that in mind, I have spent the last year studying and creating HTML, CSS and JavaScript with the goal that my knowledge would be good enough, and start using libraries and frameworks to my advantage.

I found a small group of colleagues and friends, with whom I have worked to create and found our own startup. It has been a long journey until these days, but my own decisions have led me to where I am, and for that I am completely grateful.
